My husband and I and our kids had the best time with Don and Joan and their family in Hayward, Wi. Our families vacationed the same week at Pat´s Landing. Such a special family!

I worked with Don for nearly 14 years at the UW Foundation. He was incredibly kind and his faith in me helped me launch a cherished and meaningful career. Don, thank you. Your friends and family are in my heart and in my prayers. You will be greatly missed.

On our wedding day October 6th, 1984 I ran a 5k Cider Jug race in Richland Center Wisconsin. I went to sign up for the race at the Court House. Joan and Don met me there with a tuxedo. I wore that during the race and finished 3rd. Don was very active and supportive of the running community in Richland County. I remember him opening the campus gym for running during extreme cold weather. Socializing after road races with Don and Joan are great memories.
