Nelson, Elaine Anastasia (Eggers)
SUN PRAIRIE - Elaine Anastasia (Eggers) Nelson, age 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at UW Hospital Madison on January 26, 2022.
Elaine was born January 30, 1946 in Highland, WI, the daughter of Ralph and Bernadette "Rose" Eggers. She graduated from Highland High School and married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Nelson, on August 13, 1964. The couple moved to Madison, WI and began building their life together. Elaine was a full time working mother and military wife. She retired from General Telephone Electric (GTE) in April 2002 after 33 years of service. She celebrated her retirement with a month-long trip to Europe with her husband and Mother.
Elaine loved gardening, bird watching, and going to the casino but most of all, celebrating life with her family by attending stock car races, softball games, school concerts, graduations, birthday parties, and backyard bbq's. She is the "adopted" mom to many and always welcomed you at the table.
Elaine is survived by her beloved husband Ken, of 57 years 5 months and 13 days; four children: Scott (Kimberlee) Nelson of Cambridge, WI, Jody (Kimberly) Nelson of Marshall WI, Cristopher (Angela) Nelson of Sun Prairie, WI, and Amanda (Robert) Isaacs of Buffalo, MN; nine grandchildren: Kasey, Kassidy, Kyle, Sydney, Payten, Camaron, Blake, Carly, and Madison; her siblings: Carolyn (Al) Kent, Jane Kroll, David (Linda) Eggers, Linda Damon, Jim (Dee) Eggers and brothers-in-law: Merle Damon and Dennis Kosharek.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Bernadette Eggers; in-laws George and Marcella Nelson; sisters Beverly Damon, Donna Kosharek, and Arlene Aide; and brothers-in-law William Damon, Jerry Kroll, and Richard Aide.
Visitation will be from 10am -12pm (NOON) on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie WI 53590 with a funeral service to follow.
Please join the family in celebration of Elaine at Buck N' Honey's, 800 W Broadway Suite 300, Monona, WI 53713 for light appetizers and beverages from 1:00-4pm on Saturday following the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood to the American Red Cross or monetary funds to Cure JM Foundation or SMA Foundation.
