Ellen Maxine Amble
April 16, 1938 - January 7, 2025
ARENA - Ellen Maxine Amble, age 86, of Arena passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025. She was born in Wisconsin Rapids on April 16, 1938, to the late Harry and Doris Ross. She was united in marriage to Roger Amble on October 3, 1959; he preceded her in death on May 17, 2018. Ellen worked and made many longtime friends working for Springs Window Fashions in Middleton for over 35 years before she retired. She enjoyed needlework, quilting and sharing her talents making beautiful quilts to share with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren fishing, good old country music and looked forward to time spent with her family.
Ellen is survived by her children, Robert (Cheryl), Roger, Randy (Karla), Ron (Mike), and a daughter, Anita (Scott) Willey; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, David (Judy) Ross. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Roger; she was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Willey; siblings, Orville, Gordon, Art, Maureen Ross, Carol Schulenburg, and Barbara Esser.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Hooverson Funeral Home, 702 Emily Rd., Mazomanie. A private graveside committal service for Ellen's family will immediately follow at the Arena Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family at a luncheon and gathering held at Rookies, Hwy 14 Mazomanie following the interment.
Ellen's family asks that in lieu of flowers, please spend time with your mom, dad or loved ones. Ellen was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2014, although people with Alzheimer's forget, they should not be forgotten. Time is all we have, until we don't. Mom, you will not be forgotten.
Ellen's family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Jessica Darling for her kindness and helping keep mom calm; and to Agrace Hospice, especially Nurse Jamie, for their help, and a special friend, Lorri Peterson, for being mom's friend and protector; we will always be grateful for you being with us through the laughs and the tears, you are a blessing.
