Eunice Loomans Obituary

Eunice Pauline Loomans

March 1, 1941 - July 10, 2025

Eunice Pauline Loomans, age 84, went to her eternal home on July 10, 2025.

She was born on March 1, 1941, in Suring, Wis., to Paul and Doris Tuschy and re-born of the Spirit in Christian Baptism on March 30, 1941. In this Christian faith she was confirmed on May 8, 1955.

On July 15, 1967, she married Dale Loomans at St. John's Lutheran Church in Suring, Wis. To this couple God entrusted their children, Scott (Sandra), Ted (Susan), and Wendy (Tariq). She adored her five grandchildren: Genesis, Joelle, Josiah, Kamran, and Zach.

Eunice was valedictorian of Suring High School in 1959. She earned a bachelor's degree in education at Concordia University, St. Paul, MN, and a master's degree from Concordia University, River Forest, Ill. She put these degrees to practice at St. Peter's Lutheran School in Reedsburg, Wis., where she told children of Jesus' love for 31 years.

She loved the outdoors, particularly her large and productive gardens, beautiful flowers, and being serenaded by orioles perched in nearby elm trees. On opening day, she was in the woods with family and harvested an occasional deer.

Eunice lettered in softball at Concordia University and was an ardent fan of the Milwaukee Braves and the Green Bay Packers. In her later days, she shared that she looked forward to watching games from the front row of Heaven.

Artful use of humor was a prominent element of her cheerful disposition. Her most enduring characteristic was her constant support and encouragement for her family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Elenore Hischke; brother, Gary (Cindy) Tuschy; all of her children and grandchildren; many dear nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Also surviving her are two sisters-in-law, Mary and Jane, with whom she shared a great friendship. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Jean Breitzman.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on July 18 at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg, Wis., with Pastor Butler officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on July 17 at the Grasse Funeral home in Reedsburg and on July 18 at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. There will be a light lunch followed by Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Portage, Wis.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran School would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made at www.grassefs.com. Grasse Funeral Service in Reedsburg is serving the family.

I was privileged to teach alongside Eunice and Dale in the 70's and 80's. I remember them both with fondness and love as they shared Jesus's love with all who they came in contact with.
