Franklin Raemisch Obituary

Raemisch, Franklin August "Frank"

LODI - Franklin August "Frank" Raemisch, 86, of Lodi, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021. He was born on Aug. 18, 1934, to Frank and Lillian Raemisch. Frank graduated from Waunakee High School before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. While serving, Frank earned the rank of sergeant. After returning from Korea, Frank joined his father's construction business, F.H. Raemisch and Sons, retiring as the owner/operator. Frank married Marlene Ann Domini on April 26, 1960, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pine Bluff. The two then started their family together and were happily married for over 60 years.

Frank made countless contributions to his family and community. After retirement Frank pursued his hobby of auctioneering. He became a "Colonel" and started Waun-A-Auction. He was passionate about his hobby and used his skills for the betterment of local charities through fundraising. Frank was involved with Jaycee's, Waunakee VFW, Lake Wisconsin Boat Club, Lodi EMS and 4-H. He was also a past Commander of American Legion Post 360. Frank was instrumental in the forming of Waunafest and founded Lake View Park in Okee. As a youth mentor, Frank always found time to share his experiences to help those that needed guidance. Frank also participated in the Badger Honor Flight, which was a treasured memory for him.

Frank is survived by his wife, Marlene Raemisch; his daughters, Jodi (Grant) Oster and Jill (Dean) Hensen; and his son, Jay (Lynn) Raemisch. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Clark Oster and Rex Oster, Samantha (Adam Lorenz) Hensen and McKenzie (Andrew Endsley) Hensen, and Olivia Raemisch. Additionally, he is survived by his brother and best friend, LaVerne (Butch) Raemisch; and his sister-in-law, Darlene Raemisch.

Frank was an outgoing person who loved being with people and, above all, his family. He treasured the small moments, and nothing meant more to him than spending time with his children and grandchildren. Frank loved being home on Lake Wisconsin with his family, where he played cards, went boating, and watched every sport he could - the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and Bucks. He will be remembered for his positive outlook on life and his ability to make everyone smile, no matter the circumstance. Frank's happiness was contagious, and those who knew him felt joy in his presence.

Frank's family would like to thank the staff at Meriter Hospital for their care and empathy. Their compassion made an enormous difference for Frank and his family.

Funeral services will be held at BLESSED TRINITY CATHOLIC PARISH in Lodi, Wis., on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines will be followed so there will be limited capacity. The Mass will be livestreamed and can be viewed by going to Blessed Trinity Catholic Parish's YouTube page.

The family will determine a memorial in the future.
