Gary Goss

1945 - 2026

Gary Goss passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on February 12, 2026 at the age of 80.

Gary was born in New York City to Beatrice and Irving Goss. He grew up in the Bronx and stayed in the area throughout his young adulthood. He traveled and worked throughout the country, eventually settling in Waunakee with his wife and daughters. Gary became the owner of Schuch-Landmark Engine Service in the mid 1990s in Sun Prairie. He served many in the Sun Prairie community for around 20 years where he became a resident in his later years.

Gary was a lifelong learner and lover of history. He had a curious and inquisitive mind. He followed current events closely, always having a strong take on the latest headlines. Gary did things his own way, for better or for worse. He lived by strong convictions. He enjoyed being generous when he could. He was proud of his children and grandsons; his Jewish heritage and faith; his New York City ties; and his impressive and eclectic collection of antiques and oddities. He made an impact in the lives he touched. His absence will surely be felt by those closest to him for many years to come.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Brie Dietmeyer, Jorna Cychosz and Danica Gonzalez; and grandsons, Ezren Cychosz, Ara Cychosz, Roe B Cychosz and Salem Cychosz.

A celebration of life will be held at Sugar River Pizza Company in Sun Prairie, 1390 Cabela Drive, on Saturday April 11 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
