LAKE CAMELOT - Gerald Leslie "Jerry" Jensen, age 74, of Lake Camelot, passed away from natural causes on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, Wis. He was born on September 6, 1951, in Madison, Wis., the son of Leslie and Alta (Dreher) Jensen.
Jerry graduated from Oregon High School in 1970 and attended UW-Madison for two years. Prior to retirement to Lake Camelot in 2013, he enjoyed a career as a farmer and school bus driver for over 40 years. He was elected to positions in the local government in the Town of Oregon, holding the offices of Treasurer, Supervisor and Chairman. He was also elected to the Dane County Board of Supervisors and served from 2004 until 2012. He was a member of the Middleton Insurance Board of Directors. He was also the bass player in the Locust Grove rock band for over 20 years and loved every minute of it! In his free time, he loved spending time with family, especially boating and playing hockey.
Jerry is survived by his high school sweetheart, Janine, who he married in 1976, and with whom he enjoyed 49 years of marriage. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Gary Schmitz and Gary (Jeanne) Denton; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Al) Pipkorn and Rhonda (Tom) Clayton; four nieces and five nephews; and 16 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Anita Schmitz.
A celebration of life will be held at WOODLAND LUTHERAN CHURCH, 280 14th Ave., Nekoosa, Wis., at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, with Pastor Margo Peterson presiding. A second celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, with Pastor Margo Peterson presiding. There will be a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Town of Oregon – Park Committee or the Oregon Food Pantry. Jerry's family and friends would like to thank the amazing staff at UW Hospital for the wonderful care he received there. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
