May 18, 1937 - April 4, 2025
SUN PRAIRIE/DeFOREST - Gerald "Jerry" Amos Warmuth, age 87, of Sun Prairie, Wis., formerly of DeForest, Wis., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 4, 2025, at UW Health East Hospital. He was born on May 18, 1937, in Columbus, Wis., to parents Edmund and Helen (Maertz) Warmuth.
Jerry was very giving, helpful and very devoted to his faith. He was an avid outdoorsman, including a long commitment at the North Bristol Sportsman's Club.
Jerry is survived by his children, Michael (Stefanie) Warmuth, Dawn (Donald) Peters, Kelly (Angela) Genter, and Kent (Jill) Genter; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Sally Ehlenfeldt; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; son, Jeff; parents; his sisters, Marie, Caroline, Anna, and brother, Ralph.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Talamore Assisted Living, St. Olaf Catholic Parish, and to Fr. Bala Kasipogu.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Olaf Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 623 Jefferson St, DeForest. Burial will follow at St. Olaf Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest and again on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the entire Warmuth family. Just in a short interaction you could see his devotion to his family, sharp sense of humor, glint in his eye when teasing those he loved. Family and faith as his center from beginning to end. A terrific man - already missed by watching over his beloved family still.
