Himmelsbach, Rev. James

MINNEAPOLIS – The Rev. James Himmelsbach died on Feb. 17, 2021, of pancreatic cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosemary; and sister-in-law, Marsha. He is survived by his three brothers; his sister, Loretta; and special family friend, Marcy Worzala, both of Oregon, Wis. He was born in Washington, D.C., in 1948 and ordained to the priesthood in 1977 for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. He served as an active-duty Army Chaplain and in several Minnesota parishes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. at the CHURCH OF THE ANNUNCIATION, 509 West 54th Street, Minneapolis, MN, with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass. Mass will livestreamed at www.facebook.com/annunciationmsp/. Memorials are directed to your local food shelf.
