Janet Sue Libby

September 4, 1945 - January 30, 2026

Janet Sue Libby, 80, of Bellevue, Nebraska (formerly Middleton, Wisconsin), passed away on January 30th after a brief illness. Janet was born September 4, 1945 in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph Flesch and Minniev (Billie) Flesch (McKoon).

Janet graduated high school from the International School Bangkok, and earned a BS and BS Edu from Northeast Missouri State University. Janet married Harry Libby on May 29, 1966, and was the proud mother of 2 and grandmother of 3.

Janet worked as a homemaker, teacher, and grants administrator during her career. Her true calling was as a caregiver, always ready to help others most in need. She was a longtime member of Madison Christian Community/Advent Lutheran Church, and enjoyed quilting and spending time with her beloved family and friends.

Remaining to cherish Janet's memory are husband Harry, son Mark Libby (Emily), daughter Jocelyn Libby Bohling (Bryan), grandchildren Claire Libby and Billie and Ben Bohling, brother Joe Flesch (Jeane), sister Laura Thornberry (Bruce), nieces Nicole Lusso (Steve), Alicia De Moraes (Sandro) and Jessica Evans, nephews Darren Wanek (Erica), Brett Wanek, Mark Wanek, Adam Thornberry, and Jeb Flesch (Andriette), and numerous other family and friends.

Preceding Janet in death are parents Joe and Billie Flesch, and sister Gretchen Wanek.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7th, at 11am at John A. Gentleman Funeral Home in Bellevue, Nebraska with a visitation beginning one hour prior.

Memorial donations in Janet's memory may be directed to Madison Christian Community/Advent Lutheran Church or the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
