Janet Sheil Obituary
January 22, 1928 - May 25, 2025
Janet Sheil, age 97, passed away peacefully at All Saints Memory Care, on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Janet was a kind and beautiful soul, a loving wife and mother who took great care to nurture those she loved. She showed strength and courage after being widowed and was enormously proud of her home and family.
Janet was born on Jan. 22, 1928 in Oregon, Wis. to Charles "Mooney" and Loretta McCann. Janet graduated from Oregon High School in 1950. On August 4, 1951 she married Jack Sheil. Their early years together were spent in Oregon until they moved to Sun Prairie in 1963. Jack and Janet had many friends and enjoyed dancing. Janet worked at Dave Reindl State Farm Insurance for 30 years and was a member of Saint Albert the Great Parish, Sun Prairie, Wis.
Janet is survived by Greg Sheil of Sun Prairie; Lynn Sheil of Middleton; four grandchildren, Jesse and Jaimi Sheil, Jenny Sanders and Amelia Frautschi; two great-grandchildren, Mia and Julia Sanders.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; son, Alan; grandchild, Heidi; parents; and sisters, Eileen (Robert) Olson and Mary (Jake) Brumley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 North Main Street, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 with Fr. David Wanish presiding. We will gather at 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass, followed by lunch and burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Oregon, Wis. To share a memory of Janet, please go to www.cressfuneralservice.com.
