John was a brilliant person. So Brilliant in fact that sometimes you'd have to shield your eyes to little avail as if a nuclear bomb were beside you. Although it's not mentioned here, we were partners in the Video Center. It's been said true engineering is an art, and John was an Artist of the first order. I was always going to meet him for one more Rueben sandwich, as he got me hooked on them (maybe a turkey rueben)

My condolences on the loss of this gentle quiet and thoughtful man. He formed very much part of the community of electronic music. I enjoyed talking with him at knobcon, an annual conference for musical instrument designers and engineers that he supported
with his own work. He will be missed.

I'm greatly saddened to hear of John's passing! :-(
I never met him in person but I own several of his Grove Audio synthesizer modules and even beta tested one of his earlier ones. He was always helpful and kind when sharing his knowledge of electronics to help answer people's questions, regardless if it was his product or not.
My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and customers!
