Volla, Lois R.
UTICA//STOUGHTON - Lois R. Volla, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born in Stoughton on April 12, 1933, the second of six children to James and Myrinda Obrecht. Lois graduated from Stoughton High School in 1951. On Feb. 28, 1953, she married Russell Volla. Together they enjoyed spending time with family and friends and their time at the cabin on Lake Loretta. Lois enjoyed entertaining, especially for holidays and family gatherings, and made a mean Brandy Old Fashioned. For many years, Sunday mornings were family check-in days, which affectionately became known as Sunday School. Lois attended all of her grandchildren's activities and spoke very highly of each of them. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor.
Lois will be missed and is lovingly survived by her family, including daughter, Susie Olson; son, Ron Volla; two granddaughters, Amy (Dean) Slark and Lindsay (Dustin) Klemp; five great-grandchildren, Cole, Kylie and Gavin Slark, Brody and Grant Klemp; sisters, Frances Nesbit and Sharon Dalsoren (James) Lunde; brother-in-law, Jack Lyon; many nieces and nephews; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three siblings, James (Doris), Richard, and Mary Lyon; and brothers-in-law, Richard Nesbit and Arnold Dalsoren.
Family services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, at WEST KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1911 Koshkonong Road, Stoughton, with the Rev. Eric Bakken officiating. Burial will follow in West Koshkonong Cemetery. Services will be livestreamed using this link: https://event.forgetmenotceremonies.com/ceremony?c=70506a5e-874d-4b30-819c-34ec1a4f5d1f.
