Lynn Sue (Stenrud) Bednarek, 76, of Cooksville, passed away on February 2, 2025, in Stoughton. Born in Madison on May 24, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Ingvald and Barbara (Slinde) Stenrud.

Lynn graduated from Madison LaFollette High School in 1966 and went on to study art at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. After college, Lynn moved to Cooksville where she resided for the rest of her life. At the Ady's Apple Basket orchard near Cooksville, Lynn met Phil Bednarek who she married on September 11, 1977.

Lynn was a woman of many talents, skills and interests. Early in her life she was a potter and sold many pieces at a gallery in Green Lake, Wis. Several pieces of her work are on display at the History Center in Cooksville. She also was an artist, a bass guitar player in a high school band, a wonderful and imaginative cook, avid reader, and a member of the "Cooksville Wheelin' Women", participating in many bike trips throughout the state of Wisconsin. Lynn also was an entrepreneur and started Stenrud Greenhouse and eventually sold vegetables and flowers at the Dane County Farmers Market for many years. Lynn had a great sense of humor and a quick wit which she maintained even after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and up to the end of her life. Lynn was a member of the Cooksville Lutheran Church.

Lynn is survived by her husband, Phil; her children, Andrew (Jeni) and Nellie; and grandsons, Henry and Emmett. She is further survived by a sister, Diane (Steve) Reynolds of Deerfield; uncles, Bruce and Bryce Slinde of Monona; nephews, Steve (Barb) Reynolds of Madison and Scott (Debbie) Reynolds of Monona; and many friends and neighbors in Cooksville.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in the spring in the Cooksville Cemetery with a lunch following at the Cooksville Lutheran Church. We would like to thank the staff at Skaalen Skilled Nursing Facility and Agrace Hospice for their good care of Lynn over the last several months. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of the charity of your choice. Lynn was smart, fun, warm and will be sadly missed by many.
