Mark Johnson Obituary
December 18, 1961 - December 19, 2025
STOUGHTON - Mark James Johnson, age 64, of Stoughton, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Meriter Hospital. He was born on December 18, 1961, in Madison, the son of Ernest and Shirley (Dushack) Johnson.
Mark graduated from Madison East High School in 1980. He worked as the lead custodian for UW-Madison System, for 35 years. Mark had a love for science fiction and enjoyed playing horseshoes and pool. He was a diehard fan of the Detroit Lions.
Mark is survived by his partner of many years, Lynn Sawall; brother, Ernest (Butch) Johnson; nieces, Kayla Faust and Kristen (Antoine) Dukes, and other great-nieces and nephew. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins on his Johnson, Dushack and Sawall sides; as well as many friends. Mark was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Mary Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of the service at 12 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026. Burial will take place at Town of Dunn Burying Ground.
