Peter Jung Obituary
Peter Alan Jung from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and Scottsdale, Arizona died suddenly on December 11, 2025, after a fall at his Scottsdale home. Peter was born on March 14, 1959. He grew up in Randolph, Wisconsin, home of the family business started by his grandfather, JW Jung. He was a proud alumnus of Wayland Academy, where he was a varsity basketball player and cross-country runner. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, with a degree in Business Agronomy.
After college, Peter joined his father, John Carl, in the family business and then grew Jung Seed Genetics into a major producer and distributor of hybrid farm seeds. Peter achieved this through hard work, perseverance and recognizing business opportunities.
Only by capitalizing on the diligent efforts of his dedicated employees, working side by side with them, could he achieve the ultimate growth of Jung Seed Genetics. He was immensely proud of his employees who worked with him, not for him; it truly was a joint effort. He was an admired business leader and mentor, always treating others with kindness and respect.
Peter's path in life eventually led to meeting Cheryl, the love of his life, marrying in 1987. He was absolutely devoted to her and their son, Matthew, the other love of his life, sharing his passion for skiing, fishing, golfing and fine dining. Like many mid-westerners, Peter wintered in Arizona after his retirement. He and Cheryl could be seen daily hiking their backyard Lone Mountain trails and walking "his" cat, Tommy, in direct confrontation with open-minded neighborhood dogs. When Peter hugged you, his affection was obvious. His good nature, sense of humor on and off the golf course and warmth will be dearly missed.
His final generous gift was that of his organs, which were donated with the assistance of The Donor Network of Arizona.
Peter is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his son, Matthew and his siblings David (Kim) Jung, Charles (Carol) Jung, and Dottie (Craig Hedberg), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Mary Jung, and father- and mother-in-law, Vincent and Betty Nell. Peter will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother and friend.
