ARLINGTON - Philip H. Hanson, age 85, formerly of Arlington, WI, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at his residence.
Philip was born on June 14, 1938, in Portage, WI, the son of Herbert and Emma (Benzine) Hanson. He married Betty Jean Tomlinson on August 2, 1958, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Arlington, WI.

He was a loving grandfather who rarely missed an activity or sporting event for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; his sons: Michael (Joyce) Hanson, and Mark (Shirley) Hanson; grandchildren: Mitch, Noah, Mel, Natalie, and Grace; siblings: Alan (Dee) Hanson, Wayne (Meg) Hanson, and Mary Hanson Frame; other relatives and many friends. Betty, sorry to hear of Phil's passing. We thought of you two many times. Phil was one of my best friends and was always someone you could count on at work or play. You were great neighbors and my only regret is we didn't stop and visit. Again our sympathy.

We are so sad and sorry to hear this. Philip was a wonderful person and such a good friend to our parents, Del and Joan. He and Del wired our basement in Verona for us. Many good memories of he and Betty. Betty and family, you have our deepest sympathy.

My sympathy to the family. I knew Philip thru being a member of The Rocky Run Booster's 4-H Club years ago.

To all of Philips family, it is with a very heavy heart that I write this. Philip and I worked together at Del Monte about 10 years as fellow electricians and maintenance men. We shared many good times together both in Arlington and at other Del Monte plants in Wisconsin. We had a reputation of having a good time while working and complimenting each others skills. Management even referred to us as the "gold dust twins" sometimes. I left Del Monte in October of 1975 for Minnesota ad then on to Idaho a few years later. My wife and I managed to join Philip and his wife for breakfast a few times when we visited the Poynette area with the last time being in August of 2023. It was always great to see them. There are so many other times and events that I have been thinking about that we shared together the last few days since I heard about Philip's condition but it all boils down to "What a privilege I had knowing and working with Philip". "Rest in Peace" Philip and thanks for all the good memories.
