Dear Bud and Mary Jo,
For someone that normally has no problem finding words for an occasion, I am almost speechless. I cannot begin to imagine how both of you must feel during these past several years.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathies on the tragic passing of these two wonderful, accomplished, beautiful souls.
The ancient Greeks believed that those who died young were favored by the gods because they were spared the tragedies of old age. I must admit I have a difficult time accepting this philosophy in this instance. Our society needs so many more generous, virtuous and considerate individuals like Beth and Robin.
My dear friends Bud and Mary Jo--May God bless both of you and especially Beth and Robin during this difficult time and always. Sleep in peace, Beth and Robin, and Godspeed.

Robin was my friend. On our occasional long walks together I did a lot of listening about parenting challenges. Beth was a friend and my doctor. Such great people. A terrible tragedy. I'm glad for this upcoming opportunity to honor them.

I'm in New Mexico now and can't attend their celebration of life. I remember Robin and Beth as brilliant, caring people. I first met Robin when he was religious education director at Prairie UU Society. My heartfelt condolences go to their children, their extended families, and their many friends.
