Stratton, Ronald S.
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN - Ronald S. Stratton, age 80, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., formerly of Oregon, Wis., passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in La Crosse, Wis.
He was born in Madison to Stanley and Esther (Enger) Stratton and graduated from East High School before entering the U.S. Army. Ron worked and held many positions for Bell Telephone/AT&T, including being a member of the Pioneers. He was always proud to share his work in the Madison area, especially the work his crew did laying the first fiber optics in the state, including the Capitol Building, UW Hospital, and The Kohl Center.
Ron is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barb; their son, Jerry (Georgette) Stratton of Oregon, Wis.; daughter, Julie (Bill) Bulawa of Prairie du Chien; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his brother, David. In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorials be sent to Rivers & Bluffs Animal Shelter in Prairie du Chien or the Dane County Humane Society.
There will be a celebration of life for Ron at a later date.
Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
