Ronda Sauer Obituary
October 3, 1942 - October 24, 2025
Ronda Lou Sauer, age of 83, passed away on October 24, 2025. Surviving are her brother, Stephen (Donna) Sauer; niece, Jennifer (Evan) Davis Sauer; nephew, Jason (Joanna) Sauer; grand nephew, Nick Davis; grand niece, Brooke Davis; and cousins, Liz Deck, Pat Hayden, and Mary Krumweide.
Ronda graduated from Herscher High School in 1960 and the University of Wisconsin in 1964. Ronda took a job as a staff nurse in the cancer center at University of Wisconsin Hospital. During her tenure as a nurse, Ronda developed the ostomy program for patients and was a pioneer in the concept of case study from hospitalization through rehab and selfcare after discharge. Ronda participated in the Wisconsin State Chapter of International Association of Enterostomal Therapists from its earliest conception. Ronda helped countless generations of patients, nurses, and doctors understanding the needs of patients with an ostomy.
Ronda served in the United States Army Reserves from 1978 to 1990 and was honorably discharged.
In her spare time, Ronda enjoyed spending time at her cabin in Manitowish Waters, reading, knitting, or stopping at an antique shop/mall.
A private family graveside service is planned at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery with the Reverend Eric Brown officiating.

Earlier today
Ronda was a great nurse who was such a wonderful asset to UW Hospital. I was just one of the many nurses who greatly appreciated Ronda's calm competence and compassion in helping patients she served. She was so knowledgeable and generous in sharing her expertise with nursing staff and of course patients in a time that was often difficult for them. Her teaching and care gave them confidence to handle their challenges and move on in life.
