Ruby R. Carpenter

ARENA - Ruby R. Carpenter, age 85, of Arena, passed away August 25, 2024, at Agrace Hospicecare, Fitchburg, WI.
Ruby was born July 17, 1939, to John and Alvina Carpenter in rural Mazomanie, WI and grew up in the Mazomanie and Arena area. She attended the Arena High School. Ruby went on to waitress at several area restaurants. She served as secretary for the Village of Arena for several terms. Ruby retired to assist in the care of her mother and brother.
One of Ruby's passions was Stock Car and NASCAR racing. Ruby and her sister Peggy, longtime racing fans, could be found on the weekends at the local racetracks during race season. They also traveled to several NASCAR events around the circuit. In the off season, Ruby participated many years in a bowling league in Black Earth, WI and was a founding member of the Arena Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club. Ruby enjoyed listening to country music and was an avid Elvis fan. In recent years she liked watching and feeding the birds and cared for her garage cats. She was never without her beverage of choice, Pepsi.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alvina Carpenter; her siblings and their spouses: George (Anna) Carpenter, Marion (Clarence) Porter, Louisa (Tony) Lipinski, Elizabeth Armstrong; sisters, Matie, Peggy, and her brother, Louie Carpenter; and nephews: Earl and Kenneth Carpenter.
She is survived her nieces and nephews: Gary, Ray (Kris), Tom Porter of Arena, Sally (Troy) Carpenter of Middleton, Evelyn Harris of CO, Rosie (David) Bills of CO, Michael (Bonnie) Lipinski of CO, Alvin Lipinski of Lone Rock, and Susan James of FL; and several great and great-nephews and nieces.
The family would like to give many thanks to special friend and neighbor, Randy Christian for his helping Ruby and our family with projects over the years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 4, 2024, at Hooverson Funeral Home, 702 Emily Road, Mazomanie, WI, 53560. Burial will be in the Arena Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

So sorry for your family's loss. Ruby was a very nice lady and good neighbor. She was very nice to our son Dale, she let him hunt the land across the street since he was old enough to hunt. She will be missed.
