Ruth Eileen Sander, 94, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. She was born March 11, 1931, in Prairie Farm, Wis. After marrying her husband, Robert, she made her home in Eau Claire, where they raised their family and built lasting friendships.
Ruth worked for many years at First Federal Savings and Loan of Eau Claire as loan department manager and executive corporate secretary. After retiring, she moved to Sun Prairie to enjoy more time with family and friends.
She loved traveling, gardening, baking, cheering for her grandchildren, and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. She is survived by her daughters, daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her son, Thomas; grandsons, Clayton and Aaron.
Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Cress Funeral Service SUN PRAIRIE with a Memorial Service to begin at 1 p.m. If you are not able to join us in person, please register at the following link to view the service: https://event.forgetmenotceremonies.com/ceremony?c=a8504968-1a52-4d41-b5df-e998e3732bbf. Ruth will be brought to her final place of rest in a private ceremony at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Ridgeland, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Sun Prairie Food Pantry.
