Burkeland, Sharon (Coffin)
CONYERS, GA - Sharon (Coffin) Burkeland was born February 24, 1947 to Howard and Madonna (Hampton) Coffin in Milford, DE. She passed away on January 30, 2022 in Georgia following a long series of illnesses.
Sharon attended school at St John's of Prairie du Chien and St Mary's of Bloomington, WI. She graduated from Bloomington HS in 1965 and attended both UW/Platteville and UW/Whitewater. In August 1986, she married Jerome Burkeland and they relocated to Vancouver, WA then Madison, WI and finally to the Atlanta area where they remained until Sharon's death. Life sent Sharon many challenges but she fought her way through them. Family members cannot recall ever hearing her complain whether the subject was illness or any of three serious car accidents.
Survivors include: JC Burkeland (spouse), daughter, Amber (Tracy) Freeman and Colton, grandson. Other family survivors are Jim and Kathy (Johnson) Coffin, Ginger (John) Reed and Kristen Coffin-Ranta, as well as a large extended family of cousins and in-laws plus many friends across the US.
Memorial services and interment will be in Bloomington, WI in the spring of this year. Details are pending.

So sorry for your loss. I went to school with Sharon and graduated with her in 1965. I was also facebook friends with her. She was a sweet lady. May she rest in peace. God got another angel.

To the family of Sharon, my heart is very sad as I learned today of the passing of my dear friend Sharon. I have so many fun cherished memories of our time living together in the early `70´s at 731 East Johnson St Madison Wi and later staying connected through Facebook. May you be at peace safely Home in Heaven dear friend. My thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathy are with the family of Sharon.
