Virgil Broering Obituary
October 5, 1942 - November 20, 2025
WAUNAKEE - Virgil "Virg" Lawrence Broering, age 83, of Waunakee peacefully passed away on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025 due to complications with dementia. He was born on October 5, 1942 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Richard and Ellenora (Brachman) Broering.
He is survived by his wife, Barabara; a son, Ted (Michelle) and two grandchildren, Samuel and Sophie. A Memorial celebration will be held at a later.

Virgil and John Geiger spearheaded the effort to get dredging from five different Government agencies to OK a dredging problem on the Namakagon river in 1992.they started. It took them years to get the OK from each agency and in 2008 they got permission to dredge the following year. They hired a company from South Dakota. To do the dredging it was a success. In the winter of 2008 2009 we had 125 inches of snow that season an all time record in Spooner Wisconsin. The Trego Lakeshore Association purchased a dredge to dredge it with volunteers ourselves thank you Virgil and John Geiger for spear heading this dredging project.
