Edith Elaine Seuberling was born in Canova, South Dakota June 04, 1936, to Frank and Frieda (Stangohr) Seuberling. Edith attended Canova Public School graduating in 1954. Edith attended General Beadle State Teachers College (now Dakota State University) graduating in 1956 with a two-year certificate to teach elementary education. Edith started her teaching career in Arlington, South Dakota in 1956, and then Jasper, Minnesota in 1959, and Ruthton, Minnesota in 1960. Edith was married to Dwayne Pecks December 28, 1960, making their first home in Ruthton, MN. They then moved to Russell, Minnesota, where she also taught. After moving to Ivanhoe, Minnesota in 1966, she was very involved in women's groups and craft activities making lifetime friends. She re-entered the workforce at the Eagle Cafe and later at First Bank where she worked until Dwayne retired in 1989. Edith joined the Mary Kay sales team in the 1980's which she truly enjoyed. A highlight being attending the Mary Kay annual conference in Dallas, TX. After Dwayne's retirement as Superintendent of Ivanoe and Lake Benton, Minnesota schools they moved to Edith's grandfathers homestead in Canova, South Dakota where they resided until 2007, moving to Madison, South Dakota. For many years Dwayne and Edith enjoyed being "Winter Texans", meeting and making many more friends. Anyone meeting Edith will remember her smile, sense of humor, and touch of mischief. Even as her dementia progressed, she was always happy to see you, greeting you with a big smile.
A special thank you to the staff of Stoney Brook Suites and Edgewood Memory Care in Brookings, SD and Thermopolis Rehab and Wellness in Thermopolis, WY for their care, looking past her dementia and embracing the happy person inside.
Those grateful for having shared her life include her husband of sixty-four years, Dwayne, also of Thermopolis, WY; daughter Margie Molitor and her husband Leon of Thermopolis, WY; daughter Barb Pecks of St. Paul, MN; grandson Nathan Molitor and granddaughter Megan Molitor both residing in Sheridan, WY and great-grandson Branston; several nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends.

With much heart, I extend my sincere caring and sympathy to Ms. Edith Pecks' family. I am a distant relative who is finally starting to figure out the "who" and "where" of my extended family. My grandfather, who I never met, was Frederick Stangohr. I am hoping to connect with all the extended Stangohr family. - Linda Bracken (Vera Taylor's daughter - 206/595-9053)
