Cathryn Brown Obituary

Cathryn Luretta "Cathy" Brown (Chugg)

October 3, 1949 - September 25, 2025

Cathryn Luretta "Cathy" Brown (Chugg), age 75, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on September 25, 2025, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Born on October 3, 1949, in Rupert, Idaho, Cathy lived a vibrant and impactful life that left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was married to Larry Morrison in 1970 and later divorced. Thereafter, she and her husband, Bob, were married on June 15, 1973, and later sealed together in the Idaho Falls temple and then sealed to their two oldest children in the Logan Temple.

A graduate of Minico High School's Class of 1967, Cathy carried her work ethic and desire for independence right into her professional life upon graduation. Over the years, she worked as a legal assistant, bookkeeper, and administrative assistant. Beyond her professional roles, she gave generously of her time and energy through volunteer work, always ready to lend a hand where it was needed most.

Cathy was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found great joy in serving others through her faith, where she served in many volunteer callings. She vigorously led and directed Cub Scouts with enthusiasm and dedication. She developed and maintained relationships with many of her young scouts that persisted throughout the duration of her life. True to her giving spirit, she also frequently opened her home to countless missionaries who loved her outspoken and playful personality as well as her well-stocked pantry and refrigerator full of snacks. Her commitment to community and her faith was matched only by her deep love for family.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Jay L. Chugg and Elma Chugg; father-and mother-in-law, Douglas R. Brown and Laura Brown; brother, J. Alan Chugg; sister, Susan Eckles; and sons, Brandon (Toby) Morrison and Matthew Robert Brown.

She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Brown; sons, Ryan C. Brown and Michael Jay Brown; daughters-in-law, Wendy Morrison Williams, Roxanne Brown, and Mandy Brown; sister, Marlyce Tuma and brother-in-law Doug Tuma; brother-in-law, Craig Eckles (Susan); twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who were like children to her.

Known for being outspoken, honest, playful, goofy, fun-loving-and always unapologetically herself-Cathy had a commanding presence that filled every room she entered. She was often the center of attention because people were naturally drawn into her energy, ready or not. She did things her way with confidence and flair.

Cathy had an unmatched talent for making people feel welcome. Her home was a hub for activity, hosting not only her children's friends but also nieces, nephews, and anyone else lucky enough to cross her path. She loved planning fun activities and family gatherings that brought people together in laughter and love.

She delighted in watching her children's and grandchildren's athletic competitions from the sidelines with pride beaming from every cheer. A lover of movies and word games alike, Cathy had a unique wit that kept everyone on their toes. She enjoyed tending flowers in her yard, but mostly enjoyed meeting new people, offering her opinions, or telling stories that captivated and often surprised listeners.

Cathy lived intently, with heart, humor, honesty, and leaves behind a legacy rich with memories that will continue to inspire those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.

A Viewing will be held on October 2, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm at Rosenau Funeral Home located at 2826 Addison Avenue East. We went to school with Cathy at
Minico High School & we´re shocked to see she had passed. Last time we saw her was at a class reunion & were
stunned by her beautiful white hair.
Rest in peace Cathy - you served the Lord well. Condolences to her family at this unfortunate time of sorrow.

I can't hug Cathy today, Cathy is hugging us all today and will from now on, her spirit like her sister Susie's, my wife's, is touchable, imbedded in our minds and hearts. Cathy is not alone in this passing, as her loving husband Bob, shared at Susie's funeral, "many have passed before". I pray for Cathy's families, the Browns, Tuma's and many others as life adjusts our minds and hearts. Love you all Craig Eckles.
