Dwayne Leroy Wood
March 23, 1955 ~ December 24, 2020
Dwayne Leroy Wood, age 65, passed away Thursday December 24, 2020 at his home.
Dwayne was born March 23, 1955 in Nampa, Idaho. He lived in Boise, Idaho until his retirement from Idaho Power Company in 2017, whereupon he moved to Cascade, Idaho.
He spent the majority of his career working for Idaho Power in their Recreation, Parks, and Environmental Sections up and down the Snake River corridor. He retired in 2017 as the Supervisor of the Recreation/Park Section. This was the perfect job for him because he was a pleasant and persuasive person with strong feelings about public access at Idaho Power's project areas--plus it gave him plenty of opportunities to work in the out-of-doors, which he loved.
Dwayne is survived by his parents Betty and Melvin Wood, his son and daughter-in-law John and Julia Wood, his daughter and son-in-law Maria (Wood) and Nate Willacy, and his cherished grandchildren Liam Wood, Owen Wood, Franklin Willacy, and Eliza Willacy; all of Boise, Idaho. He is also survived by numerous other family members from around the northwest.
His greatest pride and joy was his family, and his greatest sorrow will be not being here to watch his grandchildren grow up.
A private memorial service is pending.

Dear Dwayne! Dear brother!
Intense grief fills my heart, for you left us so unexpectatly and so early. Like many times before, I was planning to visit with you up in your cabin last February, but could not make it because of Corona. Now I will not even be able to say good by to you in person, as we are still in a lockdown. I will alwlays cherish your friendship, which started 50 years ago and be thankful for it, and I also will always remember the good times we and our families had together. You made me feel like home , everytime I came to Boise to see you. When I said good bye to you in February 2019, I never in this world had expected it to be the last time. I will miss you. Your shadow will follow me around, whenever I'm back in Boise, hopefully soon.
Your brother Clemens

My heart goes out to each of you for the tragic loss of Dwayne. He was an inspiration, mentor, friend, and counselor to many people throughout his life and will be missed beyond description. He brought so much laughter to everyone he met - laughter was his choice of medicine for everything. His love of and for his family was immeasurable - his children and grandchildren were his true joy!
I'm grateful I had the opportunity to know him.
My sincerest condolences and comfort to you all.
