She told her family in her last weeks that she was going to be going on a date with her dad very soon. She remembered often sitting on the porch singing with him for many hours. She was devastated when her best friend and/father passed away while she was in England on her mission. She was proud of the fact that she got to sing in the honor choir at the University of Utah and had a passion for singing all her life. In her later years she loved hearing her granddaughters sing and would often come out to their side of the home to listen to the concert as she called it.
Ilene graduated from LDS Business College and later served a faithful mission to England as a young woman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon her return she married Franklin Virgil Cook and raised their three boys for a majority of their life in Twins Falls Idaho.
She was employed with many different businesses over her life but spent over 20 years of her life before she retired, as a front desk receptionist for Best Western Inn.
There were so many that were recipients of her talents through the years as she decorated cakes, put together floral arrangements, sewed, crocheted, and canvased amongst many other things. She was faithful in her church and served in many callings throughout the years, but she was especially proud of the years that she served as a family history consultant. She always went above and beyond in everything that she did. She put together her entire family history in detail and left a wonderful family legacy.
In spite of the tough cookie, she was at times she had a wonderful sense of humor and loved her three boys with all her heart. Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma you will be missed.
