Joyce Chupa Obituary

Joyce Renee Chupa

February 28, 1951 - March 9, 2025

Joyce Renee Chupa, 74, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 9, 2025. Joyce was born in Pocatello, Idaho, on February 28, 1951. She was adopted along with her sister Lynna by parents, Hy and Emily Rosencrantz of Buhl, Idaho. Joyce attended schools in Buhl, Hagerman, Wendell, and Boise State University.

Living on a farm, Joyce enjoyed animals. She loved her horse Target and rode him in Hagerman parades. After college, Joyce returned to Twin Falls and began working at the Buhl Fish Hatchery. The job she enjoyed next was as the office manager for Snake River Chemical, then changing careers to work for the State of Idaho, where she retired. She then worked part-time at Windsors and was, for a time, the lunch lady at O'Leary Middle School.

Joyce married Mike Chupa on April 14, 1990, in Twin Falls, Idaho. They were inseparable from the moment they saw each other. They enjoyed fishing, golfing, and road trips, exploring with their dogs. She had a green thumb and enjoyed the simple things in life.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Chupa.

She is survived by sisters, Lynna Bolen, Millie Deck, and Devon Orgill; nephews, Eric Hansen and Chris Hansen; nephews Brixton Hansen, and Corbin Hansen; and great niece, Ava Hansen; as well as her beloved dogs, Opie and Auggie.

There won't be any services held right now. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Wilks Magic Valley Funeral Home. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com.

Dear Lynna, Millie, and Devon:
I am sorry to hear about the passing of Joyce, my sister-in-law. Joyce was my brother Mike's best friend and best beloved. She saw him through thick and thin in so many ways. I remember sitting in their back yard feasting on walleye and hearing stories about Mike and Joyce's times snowmobiling in the South Hills, stories about Mike's rodeo days, and his adventures fishing for walleye in Magic Reservoir. And we so enjoyed the dogs that were part of ther family. My siblings and I are grateful for her and Mike's support when we shad to rescue our parents who had fallen into dementia. And we are most grateful for the care she gave Mike in his battle with silicosis. What a strong, caring, warm hearted soul!

Joyce was the soulmate of our dear departed Michael Chupa. She will be forever in our hearts for her devotion to Mike - in sickness and in health. All trials and tribulations done, they are forever together. Blessed Be.

Prayers for her family.Joyce and I graduated from Wendell High School in 1969. We ended up being roommates at BSU. We were so homesick and we´d start talking about our Mom´s cooking and end up crying. And then burst out laughing.
We were great friends. So sorry for your loss.

I have been cutting Joyce's hair for several years, and Mike's before his passing. Joyce's and I would talk about our dogs and flowers and hummingbirds. Both Mike and Joyce were wonderful people. I enjoyed our conversations and will miss her tremendously.
