Aug. 14, 1929 - May 25, 2024
Leah Rae Dunken Jones, passed on May 25, 2024, at St. Luke's Magic Valley after a brief illness. She was 94.
Leah was born on August 14, 1929, in Kimberly, ID to L. Ray and Margaret Dunken. She graduated from TFHS in 1947, then attended Clark College in Vancouver, WA. Upon returning to Idaho, she married John "Jack" Pierson Jones, who served in the United States Marine Corp. Leah spent many years as the office manager for Keegan Potatoes. She loved working for the Keegan boys, whom she had known since they were young rascals running around the neighborhood.
Aside from her family, Leah was most proud of her cabin in the breathtaking Sawtooth mountains. A dream she had fulfilled beautifully. She was happy to share with family and friends. She was also an avid Bridge player and played with the same group of friends for many years.
Leah loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Just this past December she prepared a beautiful prime rib dinner for her family. Her Christmas cookies were the best which she loved baking and decorating with her grandkids.
Leah was kind, generous and happy to share her opinion. She didn't suffer fools!
Leah's children would like to thank her nieces, friends, the Keegan boys and all who reached out to offer their love and support.
Leah is survived by her two sons: Timothy (Karen) Jones and Bill (Anja Spence); one daughter, Nancy Smith; three grandchildren: Conor Smith, Dunken (Jasman) Smith, and Lilka Jones; one great-grandson; Kyrie Smith, as well as many nieces and one nephew.
Leah was preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence Ray and Margaret Dunken; husband, Jack Jones; twin sister, Betty (Lou) Sitton and brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Dunken.
There will be a funeral service honoring Leah on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, starting at 11:00 am, held at First Presbyterian Church; 209 5th Ave. N., Twin Falls, ID.

I was very sad to learn of Leah's passing. I have always, and my gran always, thought the world of her. Such a kind, beautiful inside and out soul. And funny too. My sincerest sympathies to Nancy, Tim and the rest of the family. Felise Thorpe Moll

Leah and Jack lived next door to Joe, Barb, Jeff, Doug and Liz Shinn on 11th Ave East. Jack and Joe were hunting and DIY buddies, I recall. Our Mother, Barbara, and Leah kept in touch for many years.
Our condolences to her family.

Aunt Leah was a brilliant shinning light in our family. She was always so much fun to be around and I will miss her sweet presence. I have a wonderful picture in my mind of her running into Uncle Jack's arms in Heaven.
