Mary Christine Elliott Santa

Mary Christine Elliott Santa

July 22, 1955 – April 4, 2021

Chris was born on July 22,1955 in Twin Falls, Idaho and passed suddenly at her home in Jacksonville, Florida following a recent illness.

Chris loved to dance and was passionate about music her entire life. She studied piano with Margaret Vincent, played the clarinet and shared her music from concert halls to parades. She attended Filer schools where she played in the marching band, concert band, was a cheerleader and the FHS mascot. Chris loved UMC Youth Group, served as Worthy Advisor of Rainbow Girls and attended camps of all kinds. Together, we had such fun at the cabins, visiting our cousins, waterskiing, riding horses and cutting Christmas trees at Harvey's ranch, Sunday drives, summer evening trips to the Arctic Circle for ice cream and walks on the beaches in Florida. Chris received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in psychology from the University of North Florida. Professionally, she fulfilled her dream of playing in the United States Army Band, was a dedicated social worker and later was happy working with an optometry team. Following their marriage, Chris and Jose Santa had many adventures across the country and welcomed their two beautiful children who are now kind and loving parents.

Chris is survived by her children Stacia and Alex, their spouses Jeff and Nivea, grandchildren Liam, Conor, Amira and Hezzy in Florida, her parents Bill and Mary Jeanne Elliott, and siblings Bob and Kathleen and their families in Idaho, extended family and many lifetime friends, especially those from her youth in the Magic Valley.

She is predeceased by her grandparents, including her Grandmother Jean with who she now shares a special date.

Chris, we hold you with love and peace in our hearts and will look for you above the chimney tops.

Dear Mary Jean and Bill, I was saddened to learn of Chris' passing. I have many fond memories of Chris in elementary school, and later in high school music programs. She was a wonderful musician and a beautiful person. My thoughts are with you.
