Virginia (Higgins) Eldredge
May 15,1930 ~ December 27, 2020
Virginia (Higgins) Eldredge went to join her loving husband Ben on the heavenly dance floor made just for them. Virginia was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all who met her.
Virginia was born on May 15,1930, in Newton, Kansas, to Orlando "Fat" and Thelma Higgins, and died on December 27, 2020, in Meridian, Idaho. She met and later married Ben Eldredge on October 1, l950, and together-in between ballroom dancing-raised four children, Mike, Patty, Lucy and Suzy.
Virginia was beautiful, funny, witty, strong, and hardworking with numerous accomplishments - but she always put her family first. She was active in Jobs Daughters as a young girl, where she was queen. After graduating from Twin Falls High School, she went to work for Dr. McAtee and was his dental assistant until she married. She was also active in Toastmistress, Dale Carnegie, Make it Yourself with Wool, 4-H, and numerous other organizations. She was an exceptional seamstress and spent late nights sewing beautiful dresses for her daughters' dances. She decided at the age of 50 that she would get her real estate license, and she and dad sold real estate for 20 years. She won numerous awards for her outstanding ability to sell, and I'm sure the gift of gab was definitely an asset.
After retirement, Ben and Virginia traveled around the United States visiting many of the historical places that our country offers. She also liked visiting her kids and grandkids and other family members. She and dad liked snowmobiling with close friends and family, and they never stopped dancing, whether it be at the Elks or some other establishment. As long as there was music, Ben and Vir were there.
Sadly, Virginia tested positive for Covid-19 and was gone 10 days later. None of her children were allowed to be with her in the end, but we have faith that many, many family members were waiting to meet her on the other side.
Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ben, her youngest daughter Suzy and her oldest grandchild, Leslie. She leaves behind Mike (Judy), Patty (Mark), and Lucy (Joe), her grandchildren Jenni, Eric, Ruger, Katie, Emily and Brady, and her four great grandchildren Archer, Teagen, Jude and Koston.
There will be no service at this time, but we will have a celebration of life when it is safe for everyone. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank or a charity of your choice.
Virginia will be remembered for her love of family, her beautiful, contagious smile and as a true friend. She will be missed by many, but her memory will be cherished and kept alive.

I loved your mother so much. She was one of the kindest souls and looked out for me as a young kid on Elm street and as Suzy and I grew up . I´ve thought of her often over the years as memories of Suzy pop up from time to time. Virginia had the best laugh. Sorry to hear of her passing as she was a good person to have here on earth...but happy she can be with Ben and Suzy and others. Love to you all.

I'm so very sorry for your loss! Virginia was always an inspiration to me. She had such a wonderful zest for life! My parents were part of her entourage and enjoyed every minute of time spent with her. They often went dancing together. Mom still recalls Virginia talking about the time she and Ben got to dance on the Lawrence Welk show. Mom still talks about all the fun times they all had together! I'm so very sorry you couldn't be with her!!! She was one in a million and she will truly be missed! I will always love you Virginia!

Oh I´m so sorry you weren´t able to be with your mom at the end of her life. She was such a wonderful friend to me, my mom, and sisters. Yep, sewing was one of her special gifts and she passed it on to many of us. I´m still sewing (quilts) years after Virginia came into my life in 4H. She and Mom helped us sew our way through the fair in Filer and many completions. My sister Lynn was her special project (as it was for many of us). Trying to get us all together in Jobies was another job she did well at. She left her mark and will be missed. However, I´m pretty sure she and Mom are working on some projects together in Heaven. Much love,
Patsy.
