Walter Eugene Woolf

Walter Eugene Woolf, of Jerome, Idaho, passed away on August 28, 2021, surrounded by family and friends. He was born to parents, James Arthur Woolf and Alberta Loretta Gemperline, on August 24, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio. He married Jackie Carlyne Peterson, the love of his life, in 1969.
Walt entered the United States Navy in 1966. His various duty stations included the USS Cadmus, the USS Independence, USS Constellation, and Instructor at the Naval Training Center, San Diego. He left the Navy in 1976.
Walt was always known for his great work ethic, his craftsmanship, and he was a recognized expert in facility maintenance. After working for Kraft, Avonmore West, West Farm Foods, and Jayco, Walt retired from Spears Manufacturing for over 12 years of working as the Maintenance Supervisor.
After being stationed across the country with the Navy, Walt and Carlyne settled in Idaho. Walt became caught up in the majestic beauty of Idaho and in as much became an avid outdoorsman. Walt enjoyed such hobbies as camping, fishing, hunting, and competitive archery shooting. He would also enjoy the occasional game of golf. Walt also was a big fan of classical cars, and it would seem like there wasn't a car or engine he didn't know about.
Walt was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held strongly to his faith serving in callings including serving on the bishopric.
Walt is survived by his wife, Carlyne; daughter, Mary Woolf; sons, Kevin Woolf, Dr. Aaron Woolf, Adam Woolf, and A.J. Woolf; as well as 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alberta Woolf; and his brother, Steve Woolf.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jerome Stake Center Building, 26 N Tiger Dr, Jerome, ID 83338. The service will be livestreamed on the Farnsworth Mortuary Facebook page. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Red Cross.
