Anthony Maro Obituary

Anthony Maro, 75, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, October 7, 2025. He was born August 28, 1950 in Youngstown, the son of the late Anthony J. & Lucy Di Fiore Maro. He lived in Youngstown most of his life. Anthony was a 1968 graduate of Ursuline High School and received a BA degree in Social Studies from Youngstown State University. He retired as a clerk for Conrail. He married Carol Skruck on April 26, 1980. Together they traveled the states and Europe until her passing on June 10, 2016. Anthony enjoyed bingo, attending concerts, and going to casinos with his longtime friend, Tom Miller. He is survived by his Godson, Will Maro (Summer) and family of London, England and many cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Anthony was preceeded in death by a brother, Rev. Richard F. Maro of Canton. Anthony was laid to rest privately at Crown Hill Burial Park. Per his request, there were no calling hours. Arrangements were handled by Schiavone Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made in Anthony's name to the charity of your choice. Yesterday

I met Anthony over 2 years ago. We did everything together: went to restaurants, the casino, concerts, bingo and festivals. Great memories! We cared about each other, and I will always miss him. He brightened my life the last couple of years, and I´m sure I brightened his.
