Benjamin Longo Obituary

AUSTINTOWN - Benjamin A. Longo, 72, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, at Hospice House. Benjamin was born Oct. 3, 1953, in Niles, a son of the late Anthony and Stella Platt Longo. He was a 1972 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and spent much of his young adult life doing what he loved most - traveling the country and playing in bands as a lead singer and guitarist. He later worked for Indalex, formerly in Youngstown. Ben also spent a short time as a security guard before finishing his working career as a driver with V & V Appliance Parts. Benjamin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. What he held most dear to his heart was his family, but few things brought him more joy than cheering for THE Ohio State Buckeyes - earning him the nickname "Buckeye Benny." He is survived by his wife, Tammy Roman Longo; four sons, Hunter A. Longo and Derrick D. Longo, both of Pittsburgh, Shawn K. Roman of Girard, and Benjamin A. Longo Jr. of McDonald; a granddaughter; his sister, Roseanne (Don) Luknis of McDonald; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, a brother, Thomas B. Longo, preceded him in death. A celebration of life will be held for Benjamin at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
