Bonny J. Hemphill, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024, in North Jackson, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 30, 1955, in Youngstown, Ohio, the cherished daughter of Roderick and Sally (Daughterty) Lutes, who preceded her in death.
Bonny dedicated her career as a librarian at Jackson-Milton Elementary School, where her warm spirit and kind nature made her a beloved figure among students and staff alike. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, creating an inviting environment where all felt like part of her extended family.
Her passion for life extended beyond the walls of the library. Bonny was an enthusiastic crafter who spent countless hours indulging in various crafts, crocheting beautiful pieces, and making heartfelt greeting cards. She had a particular love for holidays, and her home was adorned with decorations made from her own hands, especially her unique homemade wreaths that resonated with the spirit of each season.
A proud graduate of Jackson-Milton High School in 1973, Bonny carried her community spirit well into her adult life. She was an active member of the First Federated Church of North Jackson and played a role in the Merritt Island Jaycees from 1975 to 1978, where her kindness and dedication shone through in all of her endeavors.
Bonny is survived by her devoted husband, Alan Hemphill, whom she married on June 5, 1982; her son, Travis A. (Barbara) Hemphill of North Jackson; her daughter, Jesica J. (Ronald) McCollum of Wooster; and her two adoring grandchildren, Logan and Eva. Additionally, she leaves behind her siblings Renee (David) Girton of Lake Milton, Roderick H. (Kim) Lutes Jr. of Lake Milton, and Jennifer King of Kirkland Hills.
