Bruce Jones Obituary
Bruce Alan Jones, 64 of Cortland, OH passed away peacefully at The Cleveland Clinic on the afternoon of May 12th from a brief, unexpected illness.
He was born to John and Susan Jones in Youngstown, OH. Bruce was raised in Champion where he graduated from Champion High School in 1979. After many youthful adventures, he settled down and married Helena Marton Jones on September 10, 1983. He and Helena were married for 41 years and had one daughter, Lindsay and one son, Bradley.
Bruce's greatest pride and joy in life was being a husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and never missed any of his son's (or grandchildren's) sporting games or daughter's recitals. Bruce had a gentle and kind heart, generous spirit, and talent for finding humor in every situation. He gave the biggest hugs and filled every room with his infectious laugh and voice. He was an avid member of The Moose Lodge 1012. Bruce enjoyed cheering on all Cleveland sports, traveling to see his daughter, and spending time with his family. He lived each day to the fullest and for that we have an abundant amount of memories. Bruce was a loyal friend, helpful neighbor, and deeply devoted husband, father and poppy.
Bruce is survived by his wife and best friend, Helena; his daughter, Lindsay (David Paramore); his son, Brad (Chelsea); his granddaughter, Macey; his grandson, Braxton; and a large group of friends, neighbors, and family who loved him and will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Susan Jones of Champion and his in-laws, William and Maryann Marton of Howland.
A Celebration of Life will be held in late summer. Further details to follow. We thank everyone for the outpouring of love, prayer, and support.
