Crystal Kight Obituary
Youngstown - Crystal Arlene Kight, 73, passed away on November 17, 2025 at Maplecrest Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 7, 1952 in Grantsville, WV,a daughter of the late Doris and Genevieve (Duley) Kight. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and also attended Chofin Career and Technical Center, where she earned her license in cosmetology.
She was the family's anchor, the matriarch who held everyone together with her steady love. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for the people she cared about; her selflessness was simply part of who she was. You could count on her without question, and her gentle, dependable presence made her someone everyone leaned on.
To her family, she simply felt like home. She was their lighthouse in the storm, the one who showed up for every milestone, every tough moment, every celebration-she never missed an event. Her presence alone made life a little softer and a little easier.
Her touch showed up in her traditions too. Her macaroni salad became a family classic, the dish that disappeared faster than she could make it. And her quilting was more than a hobby; it was her way of giving pieces of herself-carefully crafted, full of heart, and made to last.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her siblings, Beverly (Roger) Yoak of Youngstown, Nila Swesey of Struthers, Tim Kight of Youngstown, and Dennis (Sung) Kight of Youngstown; her nieces, Melanie (Kevin) Garchar, Carolynn Stewart, Michelle Stewart, and Crystal (Adam) MacLarren; her nephews, Morgan (Sylvia) Gould, Pete Kight, Timothy Kight, Dirk (Evie) Kight, and Travis (Tanya) Storm; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, where a sharing of memories will begin at 3:30 p.m.
