Doris Saloom

CANFIELD DORIS SALOOM 1936-2025 Doris Saloom, 89, of Canfield, Ohio beloved wife of Emil Saloom, passed away peacefully Thursday evening August 28, 2025 at Continuing Health Care of Boardman, Ohio. Doris was born Jume 10, 1936 in Steelton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late George and Stana (Vorkapich) Mraovich. Doris graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1954. Doris met her true love Emil Saloom. They were able to celebrate 59 years of wedded bliss on July 30, 2025. Doris was employed for forty-two years as Vice-President of WKBN Corporation and was also responsible for the Williamson Foundation. She leaves behind her husband Emil Saloom and her brother Donald Mraovich. Also, Sister-in-law, Janalyn Saloom. She leaves Nephews, Thomas, Philip (Pam)Joseph (Lisa), Chris, and Craig Saloom. Great nephews Evan, Sean Thomas and Cole Saloom and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law Joseph, Edward and Louis Saloom and Sisters-in law Georgette and Phyllis Saloom. She leaves behind several cousins in Sebring, N. Canton and Cleveland, and several dear friends and neighbors. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 4 – 6 PM at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road, Youngstown, Ohio 44511.
