Eileen Jane Schaffert, 70, of Troy Twp., passed away Friday morning, December 6th, surrounded by her family, at her residence.
She was born November 28, 1954 in Cleveland, a daughter of James and Lillian (Krause) Hoar.
Eileen was a 1972 graduate of West Geauga High School and worked in housekeeping for the Cleveland Clinic for the past 35 years.
She married Roger W. Schaffert on December 26, 1975. They shared almost 49 years of marriage and many happy memories together. He survives her.
Eileen enjoyed crocheting and soap making. She also enjoyed trying her luck playing lottery scratch-off tickets, and spending time with her family, whom she dearly loved. Most importantly, Eileen trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Besides her husband, Eileen is survived by four children; LeeAnn (Chuck) Hritz, of Ravenna, Amanda (Will) Rickelman, of Claridon, Roger (Christina) Schaffert, of Chesterland, and Kelly (Ryan) Feola, of Mentor On The Lake. She also leaves behind two brothers; Kenny (Kathy) Hoar, of Burton, and Charles (Debbie) Hoar, of Maine; two sisters; Joyce Bosley, of Chardon, and Sally (Bob) Boveington, of Chesterland; and ten beloved grandchildren; Dylan, Lily, Madison, Emma, Hailey, Sophia, William, Abigail, Jonathan, and Sydney.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ellen Svoboda.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no funeral services or calling hours. A celebration of Eileen's life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements for Mrs. Schaffert are being provided by the Wm. Nicholas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 614 Warren Ave., Niles.
