Elizabeth Pauline Obituary

Elizabeth "Cookie" Pauline passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, October 29, 2025, at the age of 83, at Windsor House in Canfield, Ohio. She was born in Youngstown on November 26, 1941, one of ten children born to the late William and Catherine (Ryan) Maloney and was a lifelong area resident. Cookie graduated from Ursuline High School in 1959. She married the love of her life, Dominic "Junie" Pauline, on July 14, 1962, and they remained happily married after 63 years, until her passing. She worked for Indalex Aluminum in Girard for 25 years, retiring in 2003 as Human Resource Manager. Afterward, Cookie volunteered for several years at the North Side Hospital gift shop alongside her sister, Ann Ditullio. Over the years, she also served as treasurer for the Struthers Baseball League, a committee member for the annual Struthers Fourth of July celebration, and a festival volunteer at Saint Nicholas Roman Catholic Church and their annual festival. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and had a special devotion to Saint Anthony of Padua. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was deeply devoted to her family. She took great joy in hosting her annual Christmas Eve dinner, a cherished family tradition for many years. Cookie and Dom were known for their jitterbug dancing at family celebrations, their chemistry bringing smiles to everyone watching. Yet nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with her loved ones, especially on family trips to Myrtle Beach. Cookie loved playing bingo and did so avidly for many years. She enjoyed weekend trips to Mountaineer Casino with her husband and many close friends. For many years, she gathered monthly with her card club girlfriends, including her best friend, Marilyn Latell. She also loved relaxing on her breezeway with a hot cup of tea and feeding the fish in her koi pond. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 63 years, Dominic Guy Pauline; her daughter Denise (John) Felt; and her sons Dominic (Ann) Pauline and Michael (Tracy) Pauline. Also surviving are her siblings Therese (Dan) Durkin, Robert (Debbie) Maloney, Timothy (Judy) Maloney, Margaret Lorenzi, and Ann (Dennis) DiTullio. Her cherished grandchildren are Danielle (Dustin) Lindeman, Jennifer (Dominic) Lariccia, Stacey (Zach) Mertens, Lindsay Pauline, Giada Pauline, and Michael Pauline, and her great grandchildren Emerson, Hudson, Lorenzo, Ellie, and Luca. Besides her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas and William Maloney; her sisters, Mary Riebe and Barbara Maloney; and her beloved aunt, Elsie Maloney. Cookie's family would like to thank Dr. Charles Wilkins, whose combination of compassionate care and common sense gave our wonderful mother back to us for over two years near the end of her life. They would also like to thank Angie Leshnack, her long-time friend and hair stylist, who always went above and beyond to keep Mom looking beautiful no matter what her condition was or where she resided. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the administrative staff and caregivers at First Light Home Care, Windsor House Canfield, The Inn at Poland Way, and Harmony Hospice for their kindness, patience, and comforting care. Family and friends may call on Thursday November 6, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fassati Davis, O.P., at 10:00 a.m. on Friday November 7, 2025, at Saint Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave. Youngstown. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J.
