Gordon Jaster Obituary

Gordon E. Jaster age 89 of Johnston Twp. passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the Cortland Healthcare Center in Cortland. He was born on March 10, 1936 in Johnston, OH the son of the late Emil Edward Jaster and Sarah Jeannette (McCullum) Jaster. Gordon had lived in Johnston all his life, and worked at Copperweld Steel (CSC) in Warren for 31 years before retiring in the 1990's. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1957 to 1959. Gordon enjoyed all sports, especially football, basketball and baseball. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter: Melanie Jaster; 3 sisters: Betty Wells, Dorothy Wolcott, Freda Toth, 2 brothers: C. Marvin Jaster, Dale Jaster; 1 son-in-law: Bernie Armstrong, 1 grandson: Anthony Butler, and a special friend: Rae Stafford. Gordon is survived by; his 2 daughters Danice & Steven Grinnell of Gardner, KS, Monica & Harold Butler Jr. of Newton Falls; a son Michael Jaster of Jacksonville, FL, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 great -great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 10:00am at Evergreen South Cemetery in Farmdale, OH.
