Heather Jones Obituary

Ms. Heather Danielle Jones, 50, of Youngstown, departed this life on December 14, 2024. Ms. Jones was born March 3, 1974 in Youngstown, a daughter of Benjamin Patmon and Carolyn Washington. She was a 1992 graduate of East High School and Choffin Career Center. She attended Youngstown State University for Early Childhood Development. Heather worked as a supervisor for Gateways to Better Living. Her other achievements were: a teacher at Yellow Brick Road and the Jewish Community Center; CCE (Center of Community Empowerment; and the Banana Darlings Daycare. She loved working with children, art, dancing, karaoke, acting in plays, traveling, and especially being with her family. She leaves to forever cherish her memory, her significant other, Lesslee E. Poindexter of Youngstown; three children, Sade` M., Sierra M. and Mariah L. Poindexter all of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Eden, Eli, Milani, and Cairo; bonus daughters, Tierra (Mike) Dunwoody of Columbus, Jassmine Poindexter of North Carolina and Mischa Jones of Youngstown; her siblings, Leah Jones, Marcus Rutledge and Jocelyn Patmon all of Youngstown; and a host of family and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Lynne Jones; and grandmother, Mary Lou Washington. Services were held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the New Bethel Baptist Church. Ministry of comfort and dignity entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
