Concord, North Carolina - Randy Wade Kirby passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 while visiting his daughter in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born and raised in Charlotte North Carolina.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Pam Kirby; his daughter, Jennifer Evans and husband Rich; his brother, Barry Kirby and wife Nona; three grandsons, Landon Orr, Trey Evans, and William Evans; three stepsons, Kent Orr, Joshua Orr, and Gerald Hunter and wife Anna; his sister-in-law, Brenda Gold and husband Alan; his great friends that he loved like family, Ken Wells and wife Kandy, Susan Flow and husband Rick, JK Bowen and wife Lucy; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Randy was predeceased by his parents, Wade and Katherine Kirby.
Randy was employed by Rite Aid, formerly Eckerd drugs, for over 40 years.
After retiring in 2017, Randy and Pam traveled extensively with Barry and Nona across the country in a motorhome or camper. Out of all his travels, he enjoyed cruising most of all. Randy never met a stranger, and anywhere he went he made friends, some for life. He loved life and he lived it to the fullest, and he had the biggest heart Pam had ever known.
Randy loved all sports, and over the years he played baseball, softball, and he coached and refereed.
The Kirby family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 9th, 2022 at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm in the Paul Helton Chapel at the funeral home, with Rev. Sarah Grace Montgomery to officiate. Guests are invited to join the family for a reception at the Bowen Residence in Concord following the service.
