Joanne E. Carlon

New Middletown--Joanne E. Raco Carlon, 79, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Born January 3, 1946, in Cirella Reggio Calabria, Italy, the daughter of Elizabeth Yeropoli and Antonio Raco. She was a beautician and owner of 850 Hair Salon for 25 years and an active realtor agent. She was also the owner and designer of Floral Expressions until she retired. She was a member of Boardman Poland Junior Women's League and of Junior Group of Goodwill. A few of her favorite things were playing bocci with a team, just for fun, meeting for dinner with her grade school classmates as well as playing cards with family and friends. She loved gardening and flower arranging as her past time, but what brought her the most joy were her grandsons, Dylan and Dawson. She is survived by her husband, Martin of 56 years, a daughter, Tina; two grandsons, Dylan Schialdone and Dawson Rice, all of New Middletown; a twin brother, Fr. Frank Raco of Papua New Guinea, sister- in- law, Colleen Raco of Canfield; and multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Martin Carlon Jr., parents, Elizabeth Yeropoli Raco and Antonio Raco, two sisters, Mary Polito and Josephine Buffano; and a brother, Doninic Raco. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm. on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Drive in Boardman.
