Joanne O'Neil

GIRARD - Joanne Kalocsky O'Neil, 90, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, in the comfort of her home. Joanne was born June 1, 1935, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Goldie Wereb Kalocsky, and was a lifelong area resident. She was a 1953 graduate of Chaney High School and went on to pursue a nursing degree at St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for many years as a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital before joining General Electric in Niles, from where she retired. Joanne leaves to forever cherish her memory her daughter, Kathleen O'Neil Cooper (Tom Supko); her son, Kevin (Andrea Denise) O'Neil; three grandchildren, Jason (Kristin) Cooper, Jenna O'Neil and Patrick O'Neil; her great-grandson, Caden Cooper; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her sister, Marianne Kalocsky. She will be remembered for her deep faith, her love of animals, and her lifelong passion for nursing and caring for others. Her gentle spirit, devotion to her family, and compassion toward all who knew her will live on in the hearts she touched. A celebration of Joanne's life will be held at a later date.
