John Cycyk Obituary

Struthers - John Cycyk, 76, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025 after a courageous five-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Though the disease slowly took his memory, it never touched the immense love he had for his family and friends, nor did it diminish the full life he built and cherished. Born on September 29, 1949, in Youngstown, John lived a life marked by deep loyalty, strong work ethic, and an unmistakable warmth that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a proud and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Above all, John's life was anchored by his incredible wife of 47 years, Sharon. More than a partner, she has been his constant caretaker, his unwavering advocate, and his steady source of strength and grace. Her love and devotion through every chapter of their marriage - especially in his final years – was a testament to the deep and abiding bond they shared. John was a devoted father to John (Samantha), Anthony (Allison), and Jessica (Justin) Hurdley. He was a loving and proud grandfather to Jack, Henry, Avalon, Luccia, and Charlie, and he embraced his great nephew and niece Sterling and Kerrington, holding them as close as beloved grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his sister Loretta Angelo, and brother-in-law Darren (Kay) Constantino, as well as by his nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lucy Cycyk, father and mother-in-law Henry (Eda) Constantino, brother and sister -in-law Robert (Karen) Cuddy and a brother-in-law Jerry Angelo. Family was the heartbeat of John's life, but his passions extended beyond the home. He greatly enjoyed playing bocce and golf, always sharing a laugh with competitors. John also found purpose and pride in his work, forming lifelong friendships with his customers and colleagues at Coca-Cola and Joshen Paper & Packaging. His genuine personality, humor, and dedication earned him not only business relationships but the respect and affection of many. John's legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering kindness. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will live on in all who were lucky enough to know him. John's family will be receiving friends on Saturday, October 25, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Holy Family Parish Hall, 2731 Center Rd., Poland. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi and Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman. John's family extends heartfelt gratitude to the incredible caregivers and staff at Family First in Canfield, the Antonine Sisters, and The Inn at Poland Way, whose compassion and care brought comfort in his final years. Special thanks also go to the many friends and family members who visited, prayed, and loved John through every stage of his journey. Your kindness did not go unnoticed. To my cousin Johnny who was always one of my favorites. You gave me comfort by reminding me when God says it’s your time thats when he’s ready for you.God and our family and loved ones are going to be so thrilled to see you. I miss you so deeply and love you gave to me. Your kindness, your laughter, and thoughtfulness will always remain with your family. Thank you for letting me come over and spend the day with you when I got out of the hospital so I wouldn’t be alone and bringing me wedding soup .Thanks for calling me and talking to me a few days a week . We shared so many memories. Bless Sher and Loretta and everyone who will miss you so much until we join you in heaven.

It is with a sad heart that I must say goodbye to a gentle man that I have come to know over the past few months. Thank you for your friendship and times together. Hope to see you in heaven.
