Joyce Irene Patrick

Joyce Irene Patrick, 67, a beloved partner, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 24th, 2024, at Parma Care Center in Parma, Ohio.
She was born March 24th, 1957, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Harold and Catherine Shaffer. Joyce lived in the New Castle area for most of her life until her move to Lake Milton, Ohio in 2005 and has resided there ever since with her partner Robert Phillips. She has been dedicated to being a homemaker over the last 15 years but in her spare time she enjoyed bingo, playing cards especially rummy 500 & Skip-bo, and making desserts. One of her favorite times of the year was the Christmas season- baking cookies, and decorating was a staple in her home.
She took pride in her role as a loving mother to Robin (Robert) Martin of Glen St. Mary, FL and Katherine ( Stephen) Reibold of North Jackson, OH, stepmother to Jeff (Michelle) Natale of New Castle, PA, Robert Phillips Jr. of Grove City, PA, and James Phillips of Orlando, FL. Joyce found particular joy in her role as a grandmother to eight adoring grandchildren: Christopher, Owen, Caiden, Paisley, Jocelyn, Solomon, and Hannah, with another grandbaby expected to arrive in February, bringing additional excitement and love to the family.
Joyce was a devoted member of Lakeview Assembly of God, where she found community and connection, sharing her faith and kindness with everyone she met. She was also a cherished participant in the women's auxiliary at the American Legion Post 737 volunteering for years as a waitress at the Friday night fish fry's, helping with the kids Christmas parties, and serving as the poppy chairman.
Besides her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her first husband, Jeffrey Natale; her stepson, Christopher Phillips; and her niece, Melissa Shaffer Trott.
Joyce's legacy will live on in the hearts of all that knew her and grew to love her. Her journey on this earth may have ended but her love and fiery spirit will continue to resonate throughout the lives of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the amazing women she was.
A memorial service for Joyce will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, at Lakeview Assembly of God, 17930 Mahoning Avenue, Lake Milton, Ohio 44429. A celebration of life dinner, hosted by the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 737, will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to her family for her grandkid's trust funds in her name or to Lakeview Assembly of God in her name. If you knew Joyce, you knew her grandkids were her heartbeat and leaving something to them in memory of her would be something she would love to do or continuing to pour into the church that she loved is how she would want her legacy to continue.
