Karen Holbrook Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Karen Elaine Holbrook, 68, at her home in Leavittsburg, Ohio. Karen was beloved by all who knew her and is rejoicing in the arms of the Lord.
Karen Elaine Holbrook was born on May 12, 1957, in Warren, Ohio to Raymond and Evelyn Miller. Karen was a 1975 graduate of Western Reserve High School. Karen found the Lord at Warren Revival Center where she met the love of her life, James Thomas Holbrook. They shared 49 years of marriage. She taught Sunday School, Missionettes and served on the Special Occasions committee where her cooking skills and love for serving were always a welcome addition. Karen was a devout Christian and was a member of Wayland Community Church where she and her husband were called to Pastor for the past 14 years.
Karen's life revolved around her family and church family. Her husband, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her world. Spending time with them was something she cherished. Over the past several years Karen became an avid baseball fan, rarely missing a Guardians Game while texting back and forth with her sister Susan. She also enjoyed visiting the Mocha House with her granddaughters and her friends, having a great cup of coffee, and making memories.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, James Thomas Holbrook of Leavittsburg, Ohio; her sons, Rev. James D. (Jennifer) Holbrook and Jon T. (Sarah) Holbrook; her granddaughters, Haylee (Jacob) Ziegler, Sarah (Jarod) Zillinger, and Maryellen Holbrook; her great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Julia Zillinger; her sisters, Susan Graham and Carol Clay; brothers-in-law Michael Holbrook, Russell (Cathie) Holbrook and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Evelyn Miller; father in-law, James. E Holbrook; mother in-law, Alma D. Ellis; sisters Kathy Bertuzzi and Ruth Fowler, and several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Warren Revival Center, where Rev. Holbrook will officiate.
Friends may gather from 4:00 PM until service time at the church on Monday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
