Kenneth Bohn Obituary

Kenneth F. Bohn, Sr. known lovingly as Kenny, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, in Westernville, NY, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. He was 85 years old. Kenny was born on March 23, 1940, to Fred and Ella (Phillips) Bohn. He grew up in Rome and attended the Rome Schoolhouse in Coonrod-where his father had gone to school in the 1880s-before continuing his education at Rome Trade School in West Rome. He worked for many years at Revere Copper and Brass and later at Oberdorfer in Syracuse. Kenny and his beloved wife, Sandy, shared a beautiful life together enjoying their cow farm early on in their marriage then ending up spending most of their time together in Earlville, NY. After Sandy's passing, Kenny returned to Rome, where he embraced retirement with the same quiet strength and steady hands that had defined his life. A man who found peace in the outdoors, Kenny spent countless hours in the woods splitting firewood, a favorite pastime he had enjoyed since he was 16. One of his greatest joys in his later years was joining his grandson Brad on weekly Wednesday trips to Old Forge, delivering for Stan's Seafood. In the last year of his life, Kenny was lovingly cared for by his daughter, Kendra, at her home in Westernville-a testament to the deep bond they shared. Kenny is survived by his daughter, Kendra Bohn of Westernville, NY; his son, Kenny Bohn of Rochester, NY; his sister, Celia (Cedie) Bohn of Rome, NY; grandchildren Nicole (Brad) Bohn-Cieslewitz, Skye Roser, Katie (Jessie) Bohn-Farney, and Shannon Bohn; niece Cindy (Ray) Bohn-Barber; nephew Chuck Bohn; and many great-grandchildren, great-nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Ella Bohn; his brother, Francis Bohn; his son, Fred Bohn; and the love of his life, his wife Sandy Bohn. As per Kenny's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. His life will be remembered in the hearts of those who loved him and in the woods he so often called home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Humane Society of Rome, Inc., P.O. Box 4572, Rome, New York 13442-4572. To send a flower arrangement in memory of Kenneth F.
